Curious Critters

Brand identity, illustration

Overview

Curious Critters is a children’s animal observation camp where kids between the ages of 5 and 12 can spend time in nature and learn about their local wildlife. This year round camp encourages inquisitive minds through educational activities, guided animal interactions, and creative projects.

The goal of this project was to develop a brand identity that is fun and kid friendly while staying rooted in environmental themes. I put a specific emphasis on the development of camper attire and merchandise to ensure the brand felt cohesive across all physical touchpoints of the camp experience.

Logo

When developing this logo, I focused the visual theme on the combination of a fox and a magnifying glass. I chose the fox to represent the camp because the animal is known for its clever and inquisitive nature. It also serves as a symbolic guiding figure within the forest, which perfectly aligns with the idea of Curious Critters. The natural orange and brown tones of the animal also complement the adventurous wilderness theme of the brand.

To appeal to a younger audience, I created a custom iteration of the Purple Smile typeface. This modification ensures the typography feels energetic and exciting for children. All these design elements work together to build a brand identity that is both educational and full of personality.
